SOUTHERN NEVADA HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION
The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association, which represents all facets of the local homebuilding industry, joined with the Green Building Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the adoption of green building practices in home construction, to form the Southern Nevada Green Building Partnership and develop a local green building program. Presently six homebuilders have joined the program.

In addition, Southern Nevada Home Builders Association has partnered with Southern Nevada Water Authority to create the Water Smart Home program to improve water efficiency and conservation in new home construction. U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL (USGBC) – NEVADA CHAPTER
The Nevada chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council is a non-profit organization providing leadership in Nevada for green building and sustainability. Their website provides information on LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, the gold standard for environmentally conscious construction. Its membership is comprised of all facets of the home building industry, from architects to construction companies to interior designers and landscapers. This is an excellent place to research green building professionals for your projects.

LEED FOR NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT
The LEED for Neighborhood Development Rating System integrates the principles of smart growth, urbanism and green building into the first national system for neighborhood design. LEED certification provides independent, third-party verification that a development's location and design meet accepted high levels of environmentally responsible, sustainable development. LEED for Neighborhood Development is a collaboration among USGBC, the Congress for the New Urbanism and the Natural Resources Defense Council.

The Symphony Park Development proposed for downtown Las Vegas will be built under the LEED for Neighborhood Development Guidelines.
